Welcome to “Only Love Is Spoken Here” – a musical program presented by our class. You won’t see any scenery – only love; no costumes – only love. There isn’t any storyline – only love. So, if you are bitter, pessimistic, angry, selfish – outside! Only Love Is Spoken Here Song 1.
Pupil 1. Love – L – O – V – E only four letters, but it’s a big word. A lot of people have their own idea about what it means. Pupil 2. Albert Schweitzer said that as long as there are people in the world, who are hungry, sick, lonely or living in fear, they are my responsibility. That is love. Pupil 3. Robert Frost said, “We love the things we love for what are.” Pupil 4. Someone once said, “Love is not getting, but giving – it is goodness, honor and peace.” Pupil 5. And speaking of peace and goodness, have you looked at the newspaper lately? There’s a lot of poverty, hunger and crime out there. Pupil 5a. I wish more people would care about one another, be givers – not takes. Let’s sing about how it should be – that’s what our play is about: Song 2.
Pupil 6. I guess before we try to change the whole world, we’ve got to like ourselves first – starting with the way that we look. Pupil 7. It’s amazing, how many kids don’t like the way they look. Pupil 8. But not us! Right? All. Right!!! Song 3.
Pupil 9. How you look on the outside, isn’t all that important – it’s what’s on the inside that count. So, stop knocking yourself – in fact, do the opposite – be good to yourself. Song 4 (Rap)
Pupil 9a. Hey, that sure was good singing. Pupil 10a. Thank you. Pupil 9a. What did you say? Pupil 10a. I said “Thank you”. Pupil 11. That’s very nice! Sometimes we show our love in very simple ways – Like saying “Thank you”. Pupil 11a. Thank you for helping me carry my packages. Pupil 11b. Thank you for holding the door. Pupil 11c.Thank you for being my friend. Pupil 11d. And do you know what my answer to any “thank you” is? It’s saying “thank you” – for saying “Thank you” Song 5.
Pupil 12. We have a special day that’s set aside for friendship and love. Pupil 13. Everybody knows what that day is! Pupil 14. Of course! It’s Valentine’s Day. Song 6.
Pupil 15. Someone once said “Love doesn’t make the world go round, but it makes the ride worthwhile” Pupil 15a. We disagree! We think that love does make the world go round! Song 7.
Pupil 16. Robert Frost said, “ Earth is the right place for love. I don’t know where it’s likely to go better”. Pupil 17. And I say, “Go out and others and have a good day!” Pupil 18. Have a good day! How many times have you heard that expression? Here’s what we mean by “ Have a good day!” Song 8.
Pupil 19. Well, that’s our play – our songs and our message. Pupil 19a. We hope you liked it. Pupil 19b. Oh, we enjoyed doing it for you. Pupil 19c. Oh, and one more thing. Pupil 19d. When you are feeling pessimistic or angry or bitter – say to you self – “Only Love Is Spoken Here!”
